CLOUD ABSTRACTIONS
For many years, Andrews’ work has involved light and color as subject. With these small works on mylar, she has used the sky as a point of departure for a variety of explorations.
Much of Andrews’ inspiration comes from the atmospheric light in coastal landscapes. In contrast to her large works, these intimate works beckon close engagement. With them, she is involved in a dialogue between abstract and representational imagery — between minimalism and a more expanded painterly language.
